ROCHESTER, Minn. – Today, prior to the commencement of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) State Convention in Rochester and surrounded by veterans, Democratic congressional candidate Steve Sarvi (MN-02) met with media and others about the record of his opponent, Rep. John Kline (R-Lakeville), on veterans’ issues.

EAGAN, Minn. – Steve Sarvi, Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL)-endorsed candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District, issued the following statement today regarding John Kline’s votes on the supplemental appropriations bill that the House of Representatives voted on yesterday:

“The House of Representatives has just passed a landmark Farm Bill – a bill that plots out a healthy future for not just our farmers, but for all of us.

“Wendell Berry once said, ‘If you eat, you’re involved in agriculture.’ Today, the truth is much broader than that. Not only if you eat, but also if you’re interested in a secure and practical energy future for our country.

FARIBAULT, Minn. – This morning, delegates to the 2nd Congressional District Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party Convention endorsed Steve Sarvi’s candidacy for Congress. Sarvi will face Rep. John Kline (R-Lakeville) in the November election.

After one ballot, Peter Idusogie, who had been challenging Sarvi for the endorsement, addressed the convention, withdrew his candidacy and endorsed Sarvi.

Upon being nominated for the party’s endorsement, with family by his side and flanked by supporters, Sarvi had this to say:
