![]() Rating: - Wisdom LiteratureI haven't worked the 9 Steps yet, although I hope to soon. So I can't comment on the program authoritatively. I first borrowed this book, then bought it. It speaks to the frustration and uncertainty of the times and markets precisely, and it presents a side of the American psyche which is homely, gentle, prudence, frugal and wise. The type was pretty tight like they were trying so hard to use fewer pages to print to save money.... basically, I wasn't able to get into the book because of the actual materials. I'm a pretty design-sensitive person but I ... You don't have to go with the book's whole program to have results. There were several ideas presented that I had actually adopted on my own decades ago, and they have absolutely worked for me. Rating: - pass on this oneI bought this book because of the great reviews written here, and because the title always seems to pop up when someone talks about "getting out of the system." The further I read through this book, the harder it was to keep reading. There is a definite political slant to this book, which I can accept, except that it implies all your solutions to finances and happiness lie in joining Environmental groups or becoming an artist. Nearly all of their "case studies" end up quitting "lucrative high tech ... Read More |
